Synthesis of C/SiC Mixtures for Composite Anodes of Lithium-Ion Power Sources

Nowadays, research aimed at the development of materials with increased energy density for lithium-ion batteries are carried out all over world. Composite anode based on Si and C ultrafine particles considered promising due to their high capacity. In this work, a new approach carbothermal synthesis C/SiC composite mixtures SiC fibrous morphology fiber diameter 0.1–2.0 μm is proposed. The was natural raw (quartz graphite) without use complex equipment an argon atmosphere. Using proposed method, mixture as well pure were synthesized used manufacture half-cells batteries. potential resulting material battery shown. Energy characteristics determined. After 100 cycles, reached discharge capacity 180 138 mAh g−1 current C/20 C, respectively, (wt%) 29.5C–70.5 50Si–14.5C–35.5SiC 328 400 C/2 achieved. Coulombic efficiency samples during cycling 99%.
